Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday occupational stresses, muscular overuse and many chronic pain conditions.

People use massage for a variety of health-related purposes, including to relieve pain, rehabilitate sports injuries, reduce stress, increase relaxation, address anxiety and depression, and aid general wellness.

What is Cupping Massage Therapy?

When circulation is reduced in the body muscle aches can occur and sometimes results in a throbbing sensation. Using silicone cups with a vacuum type seal on the skin while lifting creates increased blood flow and separates the muscles layers to promote healing in that area. Cupping Therapy involves gliding or stationary pressurized silicone cups over the body. Some client benefits are increased blood flow, myofascial release in tense areas, promotes lymph drainage, removes toxins, promotes lymph drainage, and many more. What are Hawaiian Bodywork massages?

There are two different types of Hawaiian massages that are offered at Kramp Chiropractic.

The first is the Lomi Lomi which is a traditional Hawaiian Massage designed for times of great change in life. Lomi Lomi uses a combination of massage techniques, coconut oil, elements of prayer and connection to spirit, breathing and dance to restore energy and soothe the body. Originally designed for royalty, Lomi Lomi is an incredibly relaxing massage that isn’t for every day.

The second is the Huna Kane or "inner knowing of the higher self". This is a Hawaiian based massage applied using rhythmic techniques with the client fully clothed. Based on the principle that every area in the physical body has a correlating spiritual or emotional tie, a re-framing of the subconscious is done with love or aloha based affirmations. To overcome issues that are no longer serving you, Huna Kane is a massage that you would have more than once, as it is designed to assist the client achieve pono, or balance within their personal energy, or mana within.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural therapeutic method derived from studies based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet that map to other areas, glands, and organs of the body.
Through the application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology therapy can relieve tension and stress while promoting relaxation, improving circulation and supporting our bodies natural ability to (and effort!) to function optimally.

What is Hot Stone Massage?

A hot stone massage is used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body. The stones are smooth, flat, and made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. During a hot stone massage, heated stones are placed on your body and are used to facilitate massage techniques allowing the heat to relax the tissue. The benefits of Hot Stone Massage are relieving muscle tension/pain, reduces stress and anxiety, and promotes sleep.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.

One hour of reiki is equivalent to 3 to 5 hours of sleep!

When combined with a remedial massage, reiki may be covered by your insurance provider.
