Spring is upon us, we have made it through the winter months and the weather is starting to warm up and melt winter snow away. This is the best time to get back out on the roads with our walks and runs. Shake off the hibernation cobwebs and get moving again. Research has shown that as little as 20-30 mins a day of walking has the ability to add years to your life and life to your years. I always recommend starting off slowly and building into a regular routine, however, the problem that almost always exists at this time of year though is… foot pain. When we get more active that often means more stress and strain on the feet!  We’ve talked about having your feet adjusted to accommodate for the stress of your body weight and that helps tons, however, there are times when it is recommended that we use more support than what a typical shoe can offer. This is why we have orthotic scanning software in the office. We are able to scan the feet for biomechanical deficiencies that are causing kinetic chain stress up the entire body. Identifying these deficiencies allows for a correction with an orthotic that is most times covered by your health insurance benefits. These orthotics take away the stress of body and have helped so many people with their low back pain, knee pain, hip pain and foot pain.
